Alba B3 Platform Project

We assisted the Heerema Fabrication Group’s engineers and fabricators in overcoming a unique problem.  We needed to overcome very large movements associated with the rigors of the open sea, as well as a very large installation tolerance, all while allowing for a complete seal-weld to the structure for corrosion protection.

Our solution was to manufacture each upper slide plate in a single piece at over 24 feet (7.3m) long. This video (at the 3:50 mark) shows these Fluorogold° slide plates installed under the bridge that now spans the distance between this new topside and the existing one.
